Carrie and Nathan

Here are a few images from Carrie and Nathan's wedding in Inverness then the Strathpeffer Spa.
We had a nice day with lovely Autumn colours.
I was in Edinburgh yesterday at another seminar (yes Im a seminar junkie hehe). It was to see Paul Johnson from Sussex. What a brilliant photographer and a nice guy. Very worthwhile.
Anyway, here are a few images from Carrie and Nathan's wedding.

Hillary and John

This was the first time I have photographed a wedding at Mar Lodge. It's right out past Braemar. It's certainly a stunning venue! Hopefully one day I will be back again.
Well, only 2 more more weddings for this year and they are both at Pittodrie House. My first wedding of the year (in January) is also at ....you guessed it...Pittodrie House : )

Michelle and Andrew.

A lovely day and a lovely couple.

The wedding was at St Macher's Cathedral and then onwards to Norwood Hall.
Both venues have so much character, especially Norwood. It has a really olde worldly kind of feel about it.
Im very busy with Nurseries at the moment as the wedding season winds down. Nurseries are hard work but great fun. One kid told me last week " haha you're bald like my grandad"...yep...thanks for that : )
I have also finished attending wedding exhibitions this year. My next is in January at the AECC in Aberdeen. It is the "Your wedding exhibition".
Last week I was at the Drummossie Hotel exhibition and took a picture of my photography friend Mr John Baikie from Captiv8. He has the coolest shoes ever!

A few images from Dubai.

The image of the world's tallest building was taken when I was in a taxi (that is why there is camera shake)...honest : ) !!!

Friday 5 October 2007

Kirstie and Lewis

Here are some images from the wedding of Kirstie and Lewis.
The wedding was the first of two wedding that I have in Strathpeffer this year. It's a really nice small town that has an almost art-deco kind of feel about it.
After the ceremony, the couple were piped down the road from the church to the Ben Wyvis Hotel .

I attended an upgrading evening this week at Loxley Colour in Glasgow. It was an ideal opportunity to have a fellow from the MPA review and comment on my work. It was a long day because I had a Nursery until 3pm, then drove to Glasgow and back that evening. Well worth it though.

I will get these Dubai images on this blog soon, I promise : )

Laura and Justin

This wedding was brilliant! I was there from the hairdressers in the morning until the evening dancing so it was a long but enjoyable day.
The wedding took place at St Geradine's Church in Lossie and then the Mansion House in Elgin.

I haven't posted in my blog for a little while as I was away in Dubai. I will post some images in the next few days, including an image of the worlds tallest building!

2 recent weddings

It has been a while since I last visited Drumtochty Castle.

I photographed Gwen and Edwards wedding there a few weeks ago.

Im well chuffed with the top image, it was taken just before the evening dancing so the light was low...infact...was there any light? Well a little bit. Not an easy image to take but I gave it a try and I reckon it worked.

It was my first wedding with Mark Stuart, we knew of each other but have never met until this wedding.

You can check out Mark's website at- http://www.ms-films.co.uk/index.html

Here are a few images from Wendy and Davids wedding a couple of weeks ago.
As soon as Wendy arrived at the Church, the sun came out! Brilliant timing : )
The reception was at the Newton Hotel in Nairn. I love using the black and white paved hallway, it has so much character.
As you can see, the new website is up and running (http://www.scotthogg.com/). I still have work to do on it but hopefully it gives you an insight into my work.
Cheers

Charley from Big Brother photoshoot

On Friday I shot some promo images for Charley from Big Brother.

I don't really watch Big Brother but from the 10 minutes of it that I did watch, I knew who she was. She was supposed to be quite nasty/ loud/arguementative etc on Big Brother but I thought in real life she was really nice.

Some more recent weddings

I have enclosed a couple of images from my final wedding this year at Innes House. The couple, Innes and Melanie (yes, his name is Innes) were great to work with. I was blown away by how good the singing was during the ceremony! Some weddings its not much more than a low murmer but wow, this wedding had some amazing singing.
The next day, back to Aberdeen to photograph Lynsey and Shaun's wedding at Cults Church then Banchory Lodge Hotel. My wedding the day before was about singing, this one was about dancing! Lynsey and Shaun have the moves! I was very impressed. Im glad I was the photographer, trust me, you don't was to see me "trying" to dance : )

New website and also a wedding exhibition

In a few weeks I will launching my new website. I reckon its time for a change. www.picturethis-home.biz will continue to work but the new site will be www.scotthogg.com. My Scotthogg.com site is currently the same design as the Picture This site but the Scotthogg.com site is going to be completely different (and better IMHO)

Exhibition! Details below.

**Come and see us at or own wedding show**
at the Mansefield Hotel Elgin with over 30 top suppliers to the wedding trade on the 2nd of September to raise funds for the Ladybird Group at Lossiemouth

Should be a really good exhibition. : )

Wedding 2 at Innes House.

This has to be a first. Robin (groom) arrived with the bestman in a tractor. It was even kitted out with some nice flowers!
Although it was very cloudy and eventually rained later, we did get an outdoor ceremony in the gardens.
On a non-related topic, my parents had some visitors to their garden. 3 baby Hedgehogs and their Mum. Of course I took a photo of one of the babies (top image).
Anyway, I have another couple of weddings to post up on my blog. I will do this when I have a spare moment....not many of those at this time of year.

Sunday 15 July 2007

Above are some images from Wendy and David's wedding at Innes House near Elgin. I have three wedding in a row at Innes House!
A guest wanted to take my picture with Wendy and David...Im usually camera shy : ) but well it was different being on the other side of the camera (top image)
I like the challenge of having 3 weddings in the same venue. I strive to take a different approach each time. Innes House is one the best venues in the North East IMHO so hopefully there are plenty of nice areas to photograph.

Wednesday 11 July 2007

Its was good to see Mark and co again. Pittodrie is stunning with Bennachie as the backdrop.

The couple (Gavin and Tracy) were great to work with. Well, they are friends so I was invited as a guest as well. I have included a couple of images from the wedding. Fireworks finished off the day with style.

The day after my wedding in Ellon I was off to my home town of Forres for the wedding of Fiona and James. After the service we headed off to the Laichmoray http://www.laichmorayhotel.co.uk/. Its been recently renovated and is looking really nice.

Last Friday I was in Ellon for the wedding of Gordon and Alice. Apart from a bit of wind, it went well. : )

Saturday...

Well, its nice weather all week and then it rains on the day of the wedding! Then it's back to sunny..argh! I wish Canon would make a "sunny weather button".

Anyway, Paul and Alison were great to work with, we had a good laugh and it stopped raining for the images at the Waterside Hotel.
My next weddings are in Ellon and Forres/Elgin.

Excellent wedding

Last week I was at The Golfview Hotel in Nairn, photographing Andrew and Hazel's wedding.
What an excellent day! The weather was slightly overcast (perfect!), the background was stunning and I really enjoyed working with the couple. I even used my 50mm lens that I haven't used for a while, its great for knocking the background out of focus (used on the right handside image of Hazel)
Recently I attended a seminar in Grangemouth near Falkirk. The two speakers were Joe Buissink and Yervant. I had a great time and was completely inspired! Joe Buissink has photographed many celebs, including J-Lo and Christina Aguelera.
Im currently preparing some images for various photography competitions because up until this year, I haven't entered.
This weekend Im going back to Peterhead to photograph the wedding of Paul and Alison. Looking forward to it.
Speak soon
Scott

First post.

Well,

Im going to try and keep this reasonably up to date! Loads of photographers seem to have blogs so I thought I would give it a try.
