Double wedding at Cortes House.

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing a double wedding!

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Mark and Michelle's wedding.

The ceremony was at Fort George. Although it was very windy it was a lovely sunny day so I took advantage of the clouds.

We then went to the Newton Hotel in Nairn for the reception.

Classic Wedding winner 2009

I'm just back from the MPA Scottish Region Awards 2009 and I'm delighted to announce that I won the Classic Wedding photographer of the year : )

Why choose a MPA qualified photographer?

I have always wanted to mention this and thought that it would be a good opportunity to write something on my blog.

Why choose a member of the MPA as your wedding photographer?

Well, unfortunately there is not a governing body regarding photography. I really wish there was! However, we have the MPA (Master Photographers Association).

I look at the MPA as an organisation that gives quality assurance to the public via qualifications and awards.

Apart from this quality assurance, the MPA is the only UK organisation for full-time photographers.

I just thought that when choosing a photographer I would recommend that you ask about qualifications. There are several other organisations including the SWPP and BIPP and they also provide qualification opportunities for photographers.

Just back from London

Last week I enjoyed a trip to London to speak at the SWPP convention.

The convention was swarming with thousands of photographers so it was quite an experience meeting lots of new people and also catching up with friends.
