Sean and Susan
It was certainly a windy day when I photographed the wedding of Sean and Susan (including lots of falling branches!). However, we had lots of fun anyway.
St Machers is such a stunning cathedral, I always look forward to shooting weddings there.
We then headed off to Norwood Hall for the reception. Norwood is another favourite of mine...

My new camera.
Being a bit of a camera geek I am very much looking forward to the arrival of my new Canon 5d MK2.
Obviously I want the best quality for my customers and this one looks to be the business. 21 million pixels and HD quality video! I doubt that I will ever use the video feature but I'm sure it will be handy from time to time.

Commended images!
I received my images back from the BPPA awards and was delighted to see that one of my submissions was Commended. I read it wrongly and thought it said "condemned" hehe
This means that it will appear in the national wedding magazine "You and your wedding" gallery.

Our wedding!
Well there you go. I'm now a married man.
Myself and Joy had a lovely day at Innes House. The sun came out so we had the garden wedding that we always dreamed about. It was horrible the next day so we were lucky.
So many friends from the wedding industry helped us on our special day. We had our pal Colin from Platinum Limos transport us to the venue, Kevin from Room to Bloom in Elgin, Roy from RS Films, Marie Main (harpist) and Kevin from Varis Pipe dreams.
I have been asked this question many times..." So who will photograph your wedding?". The answer...our friend John Baikie. I must admit that it was a different feeling being in front of the camera but it was good fun and John did a great job.
So here are a couple of images of Joy (Yes, I took these ones....I couldn't help it!"

Julian and Tiffany.
A few weeks ago I have the pleasure of photographing Julian and Tiffany's wedding.
I think it's fair to say that we had a lovely day. Yes, it was pouring with rain but to be honest, that didn't seem to spoil the day at all. Julian and Tiffany were so easy to work with and I had to opportunity to try and some quite different ideas.
The wedding was at Kildrummy Castle Hotel. It's a stunning location and I would certainly recommend this place for weddings.

Just back from Bradford.
Brilliant seminar. I met so many lovely people.
David Calvert thinks that I am a guy who he would bring home to meet his Mum... hehe.
I met a photographer called David Facey who is like the Ozzy Osbourne of photography. He has taken self-portraits when he was suffering from a heart attack (seriously). The guy is a legend and he gave me some very good pointers. Thank you David. You're one of a kind and I'm so very grateful for your advice.
I was presented with a clock by Colin Buck who is the MPA Chairman. Hey, I had a busy weekend with weddings : ) I was knackered and missed a couple of seminars.
A brilliant couple of days.
It was good to catch up with my photography pals... Malcolm, Lisa, Nick, Carol, Shrek and Suzanne.

Photographing Sir Alex Ferguson
I had the pleasure of photographing Leighanne and Barry's wedding last week.
Leighanne has quite a famous Godfather... Sir Alex Ferguson.
We had a lovely day. Leighanne and Barry were brilliant. Leighanne's Dad had me in stiches with his jokes : )
Alex Ferguson was easy to photograph and was quite happy to pose for photos. He must be pretty used to it.
My Gran.
I dont usually post very personal stuff but I thought I would talk about my Gran because I was so proud of her. Unfortunately, she passed away a few days ago.
I was her first grandchild and was born on her birthday.
Im left was so many happy memories, she was a true inspiration.
My Gran was a very kind lady who always encouraged me. I will never forget that.

Kayleigh and Duncan
I love the place, there are so many photography opportunities. Not easy to photograph due to the low light but I like a challenge : )
I had a lovely day photographing Kayleigh and Duncan, we had a lot of fun.
Their little twin boys were dressed up in kilt outfits so they really looked the part.
A brilliant day!
Since Im now in full wedding mode, I don't have the time to post up every wedding I photograph but I will try and keep the blog up to date.

Online ordering
Just a quick note to all my customers.
My web provider for online ordering are experiencing some technical difficulties (first time in 4 years with them).
If you are having problems viewing a recent wedding don't worry this should be sorted in the next day or so.
Thanks

Alice and Alistair
My first wedding in St Andrews!
We headed to a ruined cathedral for some photographs. It was quite dramatic with the stormy sea in the background.
The videographer on the day was Roy Stewart. If you're looking for a videographer I would thoroughly recommend Roy. http://www.rsfilms.tv/

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Lynn and Marc's wedding.
The wedding took place at Rafford Church and then the Knockomie Hotel
On a side note, I very much encourage comments on my blog and really appreciate comments. I don't respond to comments for one reason.... because the blog doesn't me allow this. So please don't think that I ignore comments.
Thanks

Well back to it....
Here are a couple of pics from Bryan and Victoria's wedding at St Machers Cathedral and the Northern Hotel.
I had a crazy busy weekend last week. Friday morning, drive to Forres from Aberdeen. Then a couple of hours work...then a wedding...then drive to St Andrews....arrive at 9.30pm...download wedding until 1am...get up early...and another wedding. If you want the quiet life, never become a photographer : ) All good fun though.
I forgot to say, yes that is a real rainbow.

The Philippines
Just back from my holiday in the Philippines.
What a stunning country. The people are very friendly and the scenery is breathtaking.
There is a sad side to this country...the poverty. It really hits home when a kid who is 5 years old is begging for money or a blind woman is begging on a busy street while her baby is crawling about in the dirt.
I am now officially addicted to scuba diving. I thought I would give it a go and then ended up taking a course! So Im now a certified diver : )
Yes, other Asian countries get the coverage but I reckon that the Philippines is totally underrated.

Sarah and Malcolm
This wedding was as the Town House and The Silver Darling Restaurant.
I have always wanted to take a picture of a couple on Union Street and this time I had the opportunity.
I was about 100 yards from Sarah and Malcolm so I used a telephoto lens. I know that there are other people in the image but I reckon it adds to it. It is like their own moment as other people are going about their day.

Allison and Paul
This was my last wedding of the year. It certainly was a great day and Allison and Paul were really easy to work with. Allison even let me try the "fairy on the Christmas tree" idea. Wasn't sure if it would work but I reckon it did. No harm in trying some unusual images.
Im off to another seminar in a couple of weeks. This time it is for portraiture. Slightly unusual because I don't really do portraiture. However.... Im looking to move house in the very near future and I am hoping to incorporate a studio.

Simon and Marcia
Possibly the worst weather at a wedding for quite a while but well these things happen. It didn't stop the fireworks : )
The wedding was at the Lodge on the Loch near Aboyne. This was their first wedding. I must say, I was very impressed with this venue and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a unique wedding venue.http://www.thelodgeontheloch.com/
